Spring Is The Time To To Clean, Go Green & Organize!

Well, Happy Spring!  This is my favorite turning of the seasons!!! I may say this at the turn of every season (Except Winter, I am not a huge fan of the cold, though I do love those rains and deep rests!).  Creeping in are the skunk cabbages warming the Snow, the Nettles poppin out to whip us back into shape, and all those leafy greens for delicious gentle liver cleanses.

What inspired this tidbit was the fact that I woke just before 3:00 am with a crazy dream that not only inspired movement out of stagnant old patterns, but it inspired me to get up for the first time in a year to practice Yoga before sunrise!  I fought it at first, saying do your dream journal then get to bed.  But then aha, I said Wood is waking me up and it’s Liver Time.  If I learned one thing in my treatments from Chinese Medicine, we most often wake up at liver time when we are stressed in school (frustration from stagnation that the system creates).  They always asked me in intakes if I woke up at this time. And but of course with griefs at this time last year, I was not going to go to sleep at Lung time.  Okay, enough about me.  Let’s talk about surrendering to Natural Laws & Cycles.

The Lies In The Health Industry

So many of us spend time deceived by what ideal health should look like.  A strict schedule of foods & exercise, restricted foods, perfect bodies, perfect sleep, less screen time…  Though all of these are true, if we become too rigid and not so flexible, this is not health (wood imbalance).  Following a routine can be our guide when we are first picking up new habits, and as always, please ensure that your routine is not becoming toxic to your mind or social life.

Go Green In Your Home & Body!

  • Go Green for this Year’s Spring Cleaning.

Switch to Natural Cleaners for your Home AND Body! I just got done chatting with a friend yesterday with an Alpha-gal diagnosis that left her ill for years.  She finally switched all of her cleaning products: Body & Home to natural ingredients.  The key to her health freedom was tossing the Chaptstick Brand to the curb for some organic plant-based lip gloss. And voila, her symptoms dissipated.  She then went traveling and became frustrated with stinky pits.  She bought deodorant.  Not too long after returning, she chalked up her poor digestion to stress & depression from being home.  Nope, she bought Secret Deodorant.  After replacing it for Schmidt’s, she was pain free all over again and her hormonal cycles were back to regular.

Spring Is The Time To Get Moving!

  • Move.

The Liver time governs the sinews & tendons.  If we become stagnant in our practices, this is the time of year to get moving!  Independent if it’s 15 minutes a day or 2 hours a day, a mindful walk, or a hardcore workout – get yourself in the game.  I promise, you will feel better.

Spring Is The Time To Eat Your Greens!

  • Cleanse gently & naturally!

The baby greens are creepin’ around the corner and these bitters are the better way to treat your liver!  Eat with the season and naturally balance your hormones!  The liver is in charge of turning all fat soluble items (toxins & hormones) to water soluble to we can poo them out. Bonus: this can help with your allergies too!  Nettles are a special love of mine.

Spring Is The Time To Execute A Decision, (If You Are In Balance & Flexible)

  • Decide & Carry through the plan!

This makes sense right?  Everything is growing up and sprouting after a long rest.  So carry these decisions through, execute them.  As long as you are able to balance out all that Yang direct action with the Yin flexible check-ins to ensure you are not simply moving forth out of Ego.

Sound complicated?  It can be if you are feeling unclear and cloudy headed.  Perhaps a Spring cleaning and some assistance can help direct you.  After months of weaving and wavering on my path, I have finally began to invest into my future and health because health is my only wealth and I am feeling more clear which the areas of my life to prioritize than ever!!

Summing It Up: Why Is Springtime A Good Time To Get Happy Hormones?

When We Are In Harmony With Nature, With Our Natural Cycles, The Micro And Macrocosm Are Related.  If We Are Out Of Touch With Nature, Our Cycles Can Become Too Heavy, Irregular, Or Even Nonexistent.  If We Have Our Delicious Spring Greens Such As Nettles, Dandy, And Chicory We Are Nourishing Our Liver Therefore Nourishing Natural Detoxification That Interferes With Hormonal Pathways.  What We Put On In And Around Our Bodies On A Daily Basis Is Toxic
