Fasting 101: Juice Recipes For A Fast Juicer (Breville)
September 6, 2017

Juicing can be difficult!  We often get stuck on what to juice next, how to shop, what to buy, how to get the most brng for our buck.

Here are some of the basic juice stretchers that give you bang for your bucks.  I often go grocery shopping a few days before going to all liquids for a few reasons:

  • replacing a meal a day with a juice can rev up your body with quick healthy fuel
  • you replace the junk in your fridge & cabinets with veggies
    • (i.e) adding apples into your snacks instead of other foods loads you up with Pectin + healthy fibers
Shopping List
  • Beets, 1 bunch
  • Carrots, 1 bunch
  • Cukes, 5
  • Zukes, 5
  • Apples, 1 bag
  • Romaine, a few heads
  • Celery, 1 bag
  • Citrus (Lemons are good to preserve fresh flavor if making juice ahead of time in recipe)
  • Fennel, 1 head
  • Sweet Potato, 1
Accessories For Flavor & Health:
  • Bell Peppers (uber rich in Vitamin C for sequestering oxidants that are releasing in your body and for tissue repair.  The mini bags are generally on sale)
  • Tomato, 2
  • Ginger, 1 rootlet
  • Turmeric, 1 rootlet
  • Jalapeño, 2
  • Cilantro, 1 bunch
  • Parsley, 1 bunch
  • Broccoli, 1 bunch
  • Greens: Whole Spinach (not that baby stuff!) & or Kale
  • Protein Powder, Epic Vanilla Lucuma or Amazing Grass Raw or your fave (dairy free)
  • Raw Cashew Butter / Hemp Seeds
  • Dandy Blend, banging addition for liver cleanse & nutrients
*Note: The following recipes were made with a high speed Juicer.  With the Macerating juicer, I find I need way less veg and more fruit.  Alternate to taste, possibly adding in apples, cukes, zukes, and carrots for sweetness.
Daily:
I still appreciate maintaining a gentle work out plan or low level sauna, as increasing your body temperature over a period of time is known to help detox.  Because of this, I stick with one or two blended nut mylk & protein powder a day.  Often in the morning with my coffee 🙂
Drink at least 16 oz of water / juice.  I generally time this out and refill my juice glass with the water.  Then I have less detox symptoms and I feel satiated longer.
Day 1 & 2
There Were Very Few Veggies In Season At The Moment That I Developed These Recipes… Feel Free To Alternate And Recreate According To The Season.  I.E: At The Moment, Cukes Are Still In Season.

  • 1 tbsp Raw Cashew Butter
  • 1 serving Epic Vanilla Lucuma Protein
  • 1 tsp Dandy Blend
  • 1 c Cold Brew Coffee (optional & awesome)
  • 1 c Warm Water
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 dash of Cayenne
  • 1/2 Cardamom pod
Breakfast:
  • 1 beet
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1/2-1 Apple
  • 1 bunch of Romaine
  • 3 handfuls of Parsley
  • 1/2 a Lemon
  • a nubbin Turmeric

  • Forager Nut Mylk / Raw Coconut Water c Cinnamon shaken up c Epic Protein Powder & Dandy Blend
  • 2nd lunch was an apple n greens juice c celery & parsley.

Day 3

  • 2 Orange Beets c 1/4 the Greens
  • 2 Apples (or enough for flavor)
  • 1/4 Sweet Potato
  • 1/2 Turnip
  • 2 Carrots c 1/4 the Tops
  • 2 Sticks Celery
  • 1/2 Jalapeno
  • 2 inch nubbin Ginger
  • 1 nubbin Turmeric

    *Note: Feeds 2

Evening Cool Down

Ooops.  The juice was gone before I even had a chance to pic it up.  I was starving!! I have repeated so many mistakes that I advise against for new juicers.  On the next post, I will rat myself out on my 500 mistakes and no-nos that I have committed this week 🙂  This was a quick, everything-in-the kitchen-juice and refreshing as all get out!

  • 1 Zuke
  • 1/2 Bulb Fennel
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Head of Lettuce
  • 3 Celery Sticks
  • 2 Lemons
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 inch Ginger Nubbin

*Note: This juice was enough for Ma and me.

I really like Zuke Juice. It is cooling and refreshing..  Usually a better Summer juice.  I don’t think it is a good idea to make red juice erry’ day, though I am a beet addict.  This was a nice, light juice to jump the day.  It definitely did not give me the juice energy, clarity and high that the beet, ginger, carrot combos did in the above recipes.  I vote to drink in season, when possible!

Zuke:
  • 1 Zucchini (PS : It Took me 3 tries to spell Zuke correct.)
  • 3 Celery Sticks
  • 1 handful Cilantro (usually use Parsley, but good ole Kroger was out)
  • 1 Broccoli Floret
  • 1/2-2 Apples
  • 1 nubbin Ginger
Fun Fact: 7 Celery Sticks a days is such a powerful diuretic, that it can actually drop your blood pressure!
You really cannot go wrong, it is more in what you feel.  So Yesterday, I made the Zuke & A mixed Root & A desert Pineapple Juice.  The root is what is working for me lately, but I will have to drive to Cville to find more variation in roots.  Que pasa Kroger in Boonsboro?!  This ginger blast was crazy delicious.
The Beets N Sweets:
  • 1 Beet
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1-2 apples
  • 1 Sweet Pototato
  • 1/2 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 1 Broccoli Floret
  • 1 Handful of Greens
  • 1 Handful of Cilantro
  • 3 Nubbins Ginger
  • 1 Nubbin Turmeric
Fun Fact: According to both traditional Vedic medicine and recent research, the anti-inflammatory constituents of Turmeric are made more bioavailable by pairing c black pepper.
